After long hours of deliberation and thoughtful consideration, McNary and I have finally selected our top five sports movies of all time. We both love baseball so its easy to see a theme here, but I also think that the best sports movies, the ones that transcend the formulaic Hollywood format have usually had a baseball theme. Take for instance the Field of Dreams, is it about baseball or a son's relationship with his father? Is it about baseball or does it speak to our collective American consciousness? Is it about baseball or mans struggle to understand his own place in the universe?
